Since 1951, Davis Aircraft Products Co., Inc has designed and manufactured safety tie-down and cargo control products for aviation-related fields in the commercial & military markets. In addition to providing products for standard applications, we also develop customized solutions to meet demanding commercial and military restraint requirements.

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer with experience in the Aerospace Industry to lead our Engineering Department.

Responsibilities:

• Primary function is to provide engineering expertise for a midsized manufacturing company including mechanical design, analyses of product function, dimensions, environmental conditions, stresses, etc.

• Responsible to generate test plans and reports and perform product verification testing.  Ability to work with parts and assemblies for prototyping, testing, evaluation, modification is a benefit.  Expected to provide technical support to manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and sales departments and outside agencies. 

• Expected to delegate tasks to subordinates and review their performance and outputs. Expected to monitor and report department activities in accordance with AS9100 Quality Procedures and contribute to writing/revising these procedures.  Manages R&D efforts and reports activities to management, accounting, etc.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering with a proven track record in mechanical design.
• At least 5 years experience in a similar role with products design experience
• Strong Problem Solving Skills
• Mechanical component/assembly design skills realizing cost, safety, consistency, and manufacturability constraints
• Assembly/hands-on experience of building prototypes
• Good written communication and documentation skills
• Demonstrable portfolio of products and parts that you have designed
• Strong computer skills with CAD (Inventor & CATIA)
