MSI was founded in 1996, and is presently a company of 30 professionals, with offices in four states. MSI discovers permanent and practical engineering solutions worldwide for the green energy, power, process, petrochemical, paper, and water resource industries, certain biomedical designs & evaluations as described below, image analysis and communications systems for the U.S. Dept. of Defense, and alternative energy developments for the DOE. MSI’s capabilities include:

In addition to its machinery design and evaluation services, and vision-based software development capabilities, MSI also has excellent niche capabilities in the biomedical area. MSI designs prototypes and performs detailed nonlinear analyses of hip and knee joint prosthetics, heart artery & vertebrae stents, and artificial hearts and ventricle assist pumping systems.

MSI began operations in 1996, and has grown to have 30 employees and 4 offices throughout the US. MSI won the Dept. of Commerce "Best Technology Small Business" Award for New Jersey in 2002. The company has received two prestigious Standards Partner of the Year awards from the Hydraulic Institute, and the 2018 Frarey Award from the MFPT group of the Vibration Institute for machinery diagnostics excellence.
